A long time ago I was in a fish store with my mom. I remember seeing these to fish alone in a tank and to this day I've never figured out what I saw.

There was one light colored and one dark colored fish, though they were in other ways identical. They were long, like a snake or eel (though they were more round than flat). They were super creepy looking with long pointed jaws that seemed to stay open most of the time. They moved slowly and didn't seem to care they were in the open and not hidden in a crevice. I think they had noticeable teeth.

Does this describe a fish anyone is familiar with? It's bothered me for years that I didn't stop to ask the shopkeeper what they were. I also want to know because if they're something I could feel comfortable keeping, they looked awesome and I'd love to have one or two.

is it possible they were saltwater fish if so moray or ribbon eels!

i previously tried rope fish and bircher, not the same. dragon fish don't match either. these things were seriously creepy. like, i'm a fan of manson and am really into the goth culture and they were right up my alley. they were really dinosaur and monster like.
