I know keepers on this site have huge tanks. But I want to see who has the biggest tank in an apartment. I guess any small space will do. I’m guessing people in apartments have more challenges. Did you have to bring the tank up flights of stairs? How did you get it in? (that’s what she said) Do you have to hide it from your landlords?

I have a 18IMAG0227 - Copy.jpg0gal in a room 11' long x 9' deep. My tank measures 60"x30"x24". I run a 24/7 water changing system from my garden hose attachment outside the fish room. I ran 3 lines through the wall to the RO/DI unit mounted under the tank. One line brings water in the unit. The second line is the exhaust water from the unit. The third line is the line out from my sump.

When i ordered the tank i went with a standard 24" height. I never thought about how to fit it in my apartment. It barely fit through the door way by a few inches. I was considering doing a 30" height, boy would that have been ****ty.

I had to make my stand in two pieces at my shop, and than each piece could fit through the door. I attached them with 10 lag bolts. Not ideal by any means but i figure i put way more wood and supports into the frame.

Their is also no fish tanks allowed in my apartments. I have become buddies with the on-site apartment manager. He has seen my tanks but doesn’t want to talk about them. He would rather not know. But if the company he works for wants to do an inspection....I’m screwed. Even with no tanks allowed I currently have 5 tanks active right now with many more in storage.

So let’s see how dedicated you other apartment monster tank owners are?

This is my 8x2x2 tank. Apartment management doesnt care and always compliments me on it if they need to inspect or fix something. It was really no problem getting it in but it was also delivered for me. Ive been working on getting a 84x36x32 tank but have had to put that on hold.

Nah im on the first floor, but whe i bought my first 240 high i had to get it moved from a third story apartment stupid tank leaked 4 months later

I have several tanks in my apartment 90, 75, 75, 20, 20, 20, 10. They don't mind smaller tank but I have kept the 75s and 90 hidden just incase and we are good about not needing things to get fixed.

I have a 110 gallon for about 3 years now upstairs. I also have a 55g, 20g tall, and 29g bow in the kitchen.

The big tank was a B1tch to carry up, as the guy on the low end kept pushing up while I struggled with each step, I was pinned a few times but that actually helped me cuz I was able to rest the tank on my lap each time I took a step and got pinned. If I ever move or sell the tank, I am not helping move it. I would sell for hella cheap and tell the people to pay me first in case they drop it.
