I'm in the midst of blueprinting a layout for an Oscar tank, and my fish is a plant digger at heart, so I'd be very interested to see everyone's tanks to get some ideas!

heres mine.
A few large pieces of driftwood to make hiding spots and some river rocks

That is an awesome O you have there....how old is he/she? Nice colors and great FTS!!

he is 3 years old! he has fought with every other O i have out in with him which makes me think he is a male but is cool with all other fish in the tank including some 1.5 inch clown loaches i recently added. If you look in the right corner of the tank u can see my BGK which is about as long as my O, so about 12 inches

Again, nice tank and good on ya for keeping him looking so healthy!!! Hopefully the new little baby O I picked up this weekend can grow up to look that nice!!

I really like the driftwood you used in this tank, what is the wood that you used? did you have to purify the wood yourself or did you purchase it? your oscar is just a beast though man! very nice tank and oscar!

Unfortunately its hard to get a good pic of my entire tank... theres a video thread in the media section. If youd like to see more of it.

I went and watched your vid, your tank is massive! unfortunately i couldnt see too much of what you have on the bottom of the tank cause it was too dark. nice O and i really like the overhanging plant in your tank. does your oscar seem to prefer to be underneath that?

Maybe this is a better video for more of the 150g tank set up.

The substrate is a larger pebble style gravel, The stump came with the tank as I bought it used. I collected the bigger red colored rocks from a nearby river, and I picked up the Mopani wood from a local fish store.

Was trying to make it look like an overhanging swampy riverbank with a lot of broken wood pieces. I think all the fish like the cover of the hanging plants.

Tank occupants:

1 Tiger O
1 Leporinus
1 Eclipse cat
7 Silver Dollars
2 Convict feeders (home raised) that seem to have become permanent additions to the tank.

heres a pic of my 180 oscar tank.........
