I want to try to convert one of my spare 10 gallon tanks into a mini sump for my 55. It won't be the only filtration for it. I just need practice with this stuff so I can build my own larger sump when i get a giant tank. My question is, what kind of pump would be best for me? Any suggestions? A link to materials and how to do this would be appreciated as well. XD Sorry, I'm a noob when it comes to DIY projects. XP

Most powerheads would probubly work fine as long as the head pressure wasn't too bad. Sounds like a good way to...(pardon the obvious pun)...get your feet wet with a W/D system.

If you use the search function here on MFK you will come up with a lot of different W/D systems. What kind of turn over are you looking to get for the tank? This will help decide on a pump.

lol. yeh power heads would work. of course you could always chuck on a 2600gph pump. but i dont see much point in that.
