Ok so for the past year or so I've been trying to find my center in the fish hobby. I've been keeping fish for about 6 years or so and had the same fish for 4 years until 1 died and the others got too big for my tank and i couldnt upgrade so i gave them away. I wanna keep an interesting tank that people go o crap look at that tank and those fish. I have a few fish so theres many possibilities. Let me what you would keep if you were me. I have ideas but wanna see what others think. I sat down and looked at my tank and decided I wanna get things together and get things ready for the fish when they are moved to the 150 eventually. Heres what fish i got

In my 30 gallon I have 2 delhezi bichirs growing out for the larger tank.
In my 75 gallon i have
-1 jag 2 inches
-1 jd 2 inches
-1 jd 5 inches
-1 mota 4 inches
-1 sveni pike 5 inches
-1 ck 8 inches
-1 west african lungfish 13 inches
 
I got a guy buying the lungfish for $30 and i only payed $15 for it. Also I've owned oscars and they arent worth my time not to be an ass to those who own them. I wanna decrease my stock enough to add 1 fish. I would like to get a ornate bichir, a buttikoferi, or a wolf fish but i dont think a wolf will work right now. Remembeer that all my fish are small and if i buy buttikoferi i will buy a female

do you mean dovii("wolf cichlid") i will assume you were talking about the actual wolf fish like a regular or rainbow style bump that your pike will be cool.... if that jaguar you have turns out to be a male, later on down the road he will get huge...

also, i hate that people do this crap... but a butterkoferi requires a higher pH than your SA cichlids... so just don't do that...(just because it is "surviving in the lower pH doesn't mean you should let it live in it)
They get huge too and might kill off your tank... and what you mean you'll get a female? a lot of female cichlids end up being the cold blooded killers you hear stories about.. my texas is one of them(can't keep anything and has killed fish bigger and supposed to be badder than her)

if you get a 150 just keep it african or Central/SA.... i think that would be in the fishes best interest.... also red tiger motaguense are cool and would make a nice addition!!

your pike will get long too... maybe you want a 180 FTW...
 
if the butti from the store has the same PH as he does from his house tap water then i wouldnt see why he cant have one.... most farm bred species nowadays are bred in PH of 7.0 to 7.6 so he can have one if the PH matches his house from the store. and buttis ARE aggressive FYI.

I already have a 150 but its not set up right now. All the fish i listed i already have but i wanted to add a fish. From what i know the butti females are very timid. I want to know what i should get rid of besides the lung. Also im keeping the ck cuz its a gift. So what do you think?
 
would it be bad to add a ornate or something. i want to add a real predator like the ornate, or wolf fish or something
 
My ornate hides all the time.. she is indeed predetory, but a shy one. beautiful fish though. btw the CK will also outgrow the 150 eventually if the Cichlids don't kill it when they mature.
