Current stocking of my 125:
3x Tinfoil barbs (6" each)
1x Pictus catfish
4x Serpae tetras
3x Tiger barbs (I did have about 20, but many of them have since passed)
1x Gold gourami (random fish I've had for a while
)
1x Bala shark ('Rescue' fish from Petco, I know I should really have him in a group)
so...That's my stocking in my currently very boring looking 125. It has no decor, just gravel and sand which is looking nasty as well.
I was thinking of adding a big (40ish) school of rummynose tetras, getting rid of the tiger barbs, adding some pig pieces of driftwood, changing the lights to LED strips to create a more 'shimmery' effect and adding some almond leaves (or the equivalent of) to create a darker, tea coloured look to the water.
One thing I really REALLY need help on is the substrate. I have about 50lbs of extra sand lying around that I can use, but I want to spice it up a bit instead of having the same thing all around.
Another side project I'm planning is a small ADA low tech planted tank for a couple of shrimp and maybe a small fish or two. If anyone has links to some cool setups I'd appreciate it!
