Just wanted to make a thread for my Jar, i live in Iceland, so it was pricey, $93 for a 2 incher. It is currently housed in a 25g growout tank (was to small for my 125) with a 3" P. E. Endlicheri, the Jar is happily eating shrimps one time a day. My final plan for this fish will probably be a 180.
How long will it take for this fish to reach 16-18" if well fed and filteration is good?
I will use this thread to update on the aro with pics and video.

Short video since the 24. dec.

Watcha think?

Wow, a jar all the way in Iceland! Cool! Not quite sure how long it'll get that to that size, but I'd guess 12-18 months?

You only feed it once a day? I have a juvie jar as well (about 4") and I feed it 2-3 times a day. I've read that it is recommended to feed juvie aros 2-3 times a day, and then reduce to once a day and then every other day as they get older/larger.

Well, i have fed it once a day so far, but i am thinking of trying twice a day, ill try the next days and see how it works.
I also think its cool that i am communicating with somebody across the world.

Good luck! I forgot to mention that feeding a variety of foods, e.g. pellets, bloodworms, etc. will also be good for it. Mine accepts these as well as shrimps!

finally :D very nice bro and 16"-18" depends on the tank size but most likely 1 year-1.5 year is just depends on other factors but wait for more opinions

I grew my jardini from 2" to 18" in 20 months. When it was small I fed it floating food such as frozen blood worm and freeze dried tubiflex worms so it would always look for food at the top.

Thanks guys.. It eats wherever the food is, shrimps at the top, shrimp while they are sinking down and he eats shrimps from the bottom, i will try to lean it on pellets soon.

GL on getting on pellets bro
