Ok, so the last 3 fish I have bought and brought back have gotten ich. I got 2 pbass from an lfs and they died before I could treat the ich. Now, the green terror I got from a different store has bad ich. It is in a 55 gallon tank with others, and I could put it in the tank with my red eared slider and turn the heat up and add ichex, or I could even take the red eared slider out and do it. What is the best way?

There are many threads dealing with treating ich in this forum but here goes. Remove the turtle, bump up the O2, add 2 teaspoons salt per gallon of water and raise the heat to at least 85 degrees. Keep that up for at least 10 days. Expect it to look worse for the first couple of days. It will then rapidly get better, about 7 days into it you will see no parasites, keep treating for the full 10 days or it will come back. This is the method I use.

Have you tried Melafix, (rapidly repairs damaged fins, ulcers & open wounds) (Promotes regrowth of damaged tissue & fins) That's what the bottle said, but it really works on everything, even ick. I get mine at wal-mart. The price is right. hope that helps.
