Add salt and keep the water in your tank at about 82.

The main thing is to keep stress down to a bare minimum. Example: Keep up with tank maintenance, when adding new water make sure its close to the same temperature, keep a proper temperature, etc... As long as you keep a steady temperature and clean water you have a very low chance of getting it again.

i've also heard garlic works wonders as well... just feed them garlic and parasites and other disease will be fought off easily if they do get something... i've heard lots of people preach it so i'm starting everyone on garlic now but its the the time to prep it... take about thrity mins to soak up in the food....

For prevention, rather than treatment, the best thing is do not introduce it to the tank, that means religiously quarantining every new addition of fish and plants for 2 weeks before adding them.
