my fish had ich about a month and a half ago. and i did the salt and temp meds. and it worked and now they have it again. how do i get rid of it and make it stay away. i keep my temp between 81 and 83.help please. and do i also need to do the temp and salt treatment again thanks

yes.. just do the salt/temp method again and turn keep the heat up

Well if there is something I do know about is reoccuring ich, did you keep the meds going 10 days after the ich was no longer noticable? You need to. Also something in that tank is creating stress. Also if you use feeders, they may be the culprit. Do not leave feeders in the tank if they are not eaten right away. I had this same problem this week and was told to raise my temp to 90. Guess what, along with using meds the temp that high worked, only one spot of ich left and it will probably be gone by tomorrow. Find out whats stressing the fish. Does the temp drop alot at night? Check that, temp fluctuations will do it everytime.

90 Wow that’s hot.:FIREdevil I agree with the treatment time. You should continue to treat your fish for the whole 10 days even if the “white spots” are gone. If you are feeding your fish feeders weekly your asking for trouble. What I think you should do is:
Adding salt just when your fish is suck is a good idea, however, you can add salt every time you do a water change.
How well do you control the temp in your tank while doing a water change. helps with stress
How high is your ammonia, nitrate phosphate ph etc. helps to know if there is stress
Is there fish who picks on the smaller one’s. my be the stress
I think the mean reason your fish are getting ich is STRESS.
