Ich In planted tank.

Well ich has attacked my planted tank. I need to know Fast if its ok to add salt to the tank... or should i use Fungus bubbles things... Meds... I dont know if the plants can take the salt or the meds... The filter are bio balls

HELP FAST i removed the two fish that have Ich but i dont know if its went around the tank. The 3 fish are addded and with ich... The 3rd one cant befound with out uprooting my plants thanks.

I would skip the salt unless you have hearty plants. Just raise your temp to 86.

Coppersafe if you don't have fish that it will kill, I know few plant guys that use Coppersafe. Slat will destroy your plants.

But Coppersafe is alos detrimental to certain species of fish.

I cant name all the plants.... I have added many and lost the name.... that high temp wont hurt them or the fish?

It just says will kill plants and some snails ill just up the temp.

Keep in mind, you must hit 86deg in order for heat to be effective - and make sure you keep it there for at least 2wks.

I would stay away from meds, especially copper. They can be harsh on plants (depending on what species you really have) and copper can stay in a tank for years (death to all inverts). Heat can melt some plants (vals, crypts come to mind) both others will do just fine. Heat is your safest option.

Salt can be added, but too much will melt your plants as well. So use it sparingly.

melt? Ill take a pic tomorrow of what i have inside the tank.... I think ill just uproot the tank and go after the one fish thats hiding and treat him a little longer. They where in the tank for 2 days so im hoping it wont spread.

How does this sound... Uproot all the plants... remove the fish... blast the tank with hot water and salt... Dip the plants into the water to kill ich, if that works.. Damn theirs 5 cherry shrimp i might have trouble getting to... Does Ich Attach to plants?

One more thing. How does Java fern stand up to salt?

heh heater only say 86 but the tank is 80... i need a better heater. i thnk

Heat can melt some plants, copper will destroy many plants, and salt will destroy many plants. I'd remove the fish, I personally have never found a fish that couldn't be caught.
