I knew it would probably happen eventually and it has. I have a 30g grow out tank for my 6 2-3" monos. I have been moving a lot of feeders through the tank (and into the monos bellies...:)) and one bad guppy had to ruin the whole show. I have treated the tank with Coppersafe and am religiously doing 5g daily water changes. My question is when I change the water do I continue to add the Coppersafe or not? I think these guys are going to be fine becase they are continuing to scarf down the food but I want this Ich out of my tank now. Any advice or suggestions appreciated. Thanks

well actually the best way to cure it naturally without using chemicals is just adding Aquarium Salt and raising the temperatures...i keep my tank at 86-88 degrees since I still have growing juveniles but it would be good if you kept you tank temperature around 84 degree's. And keep doing waterchanges every 2 consecutive days about 5-10 gallons like your saying. Ive truly don't believe in going with chemicals to treat my fishes except using Melafix and Pimafix.

I agree but I ended up using Quick Cure on my F1 Demasoni tank and the ich was gone the next day. I swear by melafix and pimafix except I didn't want to lose this particular group. Raise the temp above 82 and you should see it go away quick. If not get the Quick Cure.

yup. I don't like those other brands of ich curing liquids...don't have any effects at all. Salt or Quick Cure is a good way to go and high temps.

I have already added the coppersafe which I have actually had success with in the past. I will raise my temp a little bit and hope for the best. Thanks guys.

oh ok well then just raise the temp. and your good to go...

i got ich on my baby mono's within the first week of them arriving. I had the temp low for them bein small(76) and they only got one round of minnows. I could have been them being so stressed from shipping or the minnows. I treated my tank w/ coppersafe for 2 doses. And the second day i turned up the tank to 86 and added salt and the ich was gone quick....less than 4 days. The mono's are healthy once again. GOod luck. I found raising the temp helped a ton!

Yep ^^ Temp is most important, mine is always at 86f with juvie pbass. Some say that's too high. I diasagree. :naughty:

for my orinos i have mines at 88.7 degree :D for young cichlas they are best in warmer temps. than adults since the young ones are more prone to Ich and other diseases
