My clown loaches recently got ich, I quickly went to my local fish store to get a heater and some aquarium salt and ich medicine with blue liquid. I put my clown loaches in another tank to treat the ich. My clown loaches doesn’t seem to have ich after a day of treatment, do I put my clown loaches back to its original tank or let it stay in the treatment tank for longer?

How did u treat the ich? Salt at 3% along with temps at 86 for more than 10 days? How long since the spots have disappeared?

I didn’t really calculate if it was 3% or not, I just put this much salt and the temperature was at 86 for a week now, thing is the ich has been on and off, the first day of treatment the ich was completely gone, by the third day it came back for 2 days and now it’s gone again, should I continue treatment or put it back in the tank?

Not properly treated. Wouldn’t add just yet. Leave in quarantine for a an additional week and see if it returns. If returns then restart treatment from the beginning.
How do I calculate 3% salt in a tank?
3 tsp per g of ur tank. Add half the total first then add the other half in 6-8 hrs.

Clown loaches doesn’t have scales so they require half the dosage right? So does that mean the main tank needs 6%?

They have scales. Dose the 3 tsp per g for ur tank size. So if it’s 100g then 300 tsp or 6 cups (rough estimate). Add 1/2 now and then the other half in 8 hours.

Make sure u do water changes and gravel vacuuming. If ur do a 50% water change for a 100g tank. Then add back the salt removed for 50g. 3 tsp per g for the 50g is 150 tsp or 3 cups.

Hope that clears it up. Follow the directions. Keep like this with temps at 86 for over 10 days. Week after last spot gone and should recover. Add a pump or Wavemaker to increase oxygen in the water.
