Ich on my driftwood?

I have noticed over the last day or so that there are these tiny little white dots on my driftwood. The fish don't have any indication of ich and the only place the white dots appear is on the dark sections of the Mopani driftwood. I have had these 2 pieces in with the fish for over 6 months with no issues before now and both had been properly soaked out per instructions.

Could this be ich, or is it algae?

I'll try to get pics posted tomorrow.

do you have olive nerite snails in that tank. if so its most likely there eggs
