Ich on newest RTC

so my RTC I got a little less then 2 weeks ago has come down with ich, so I did a 25% water change added salt and turn up the temp on the heater up slightly, I went to bed that night and woke up and the tank was 73 degress so I went and bought a new heater because aperently that one had broke. I now have the temp to somewhere between 79-80 degress, and my question was how much higher should I go? the ick is pretty bad (covering most of his body), and I dont want my new lil' buddy to die

if ich is that bad might want to get some quick cure

Dissolve salt thoroughly and add slowly. Do a dose of a tablespoon per 5g. Increase temperature to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and do treatment for 14 days.

what lupin posted is good advice just keep eye on the fish there are cases of ich from florida now that salt and heat wont touch

Well that salt and heat worked, I went to bed last night and he was still covered in ich, woke this morning to a happy little RTC with almost no ich, but im going to continue the treatment to make shure he's completely healed up. Thanks guys!

Yeah 86 - 90 the little ich parasites cant survive in that temp.
