I looked up ich since I wanted to know more about this disease and read this on prevention

Prevention:
Quarantine new fish for two weeks
Treat plants before adding to tank
Maintain high water quality
Provide fish with a nutritionally balanced diet

but i don't get it, how do you treat plants?
i understand if it's those plants that are in the fish tanks but, what about the ones on the counter in those moisted tubes?(like at petco)

Actually why are those aquatic plants, in a tube outside of water, while others are in the water?

And I thought I read about rinsing plants with tap water before placing in tank but will the chlorine/mine not harm plants?

It is extremely rare for plants to carry ich in with them. Chlorine/chloramines will not hurt plants, unless left in it for to long. The tubes at petco have a couple aquatic species, and mostly terrestrial plants. They are in those tubes out of water for a sales gimic. The plants die very quickly in that tube as they need the water.

thanks; how should i "treat" the plants though, just in case?
or will chlorine/mine kill the parasites?

the tube plants have no way of carrying ich right?

I wouldn't worry about ich at all. I also would avoid those plants in tubes, as they are not healthy.

Oh; poor things.
Will they be tube plants be harm to my tank? Or just die really quick?

Okay so I got egg on my face :D

Some guy at another LFS was telling customers to rinse the plants in bleach for a quick dip?!

Is that true Wyldfya?

You can dip plants in a super diluted bleach mixture. It will get rid of any parasites, bacteria, snails, and other stuff.

Ich in the Theront (free swimming) stage can only live a couple of days without a host. It doesn't go dormant.

Yeah, I do it particularly for BBA. Great fix, 1:19 bleach:water solution works well.
