Hey MFK,

About 10 days ago i had an outbreak of ich which i believe came from a new fish i added without quarantining it. So far ive been treating with nox-ich and high temperatures at about 85-87 degrees and daily-every other day 50% water changes. About 16 3-4" clown loaches have died and i noticed their tails were deteriorating. I now only have 3 clowns left (only small ones survived???). Anyway, my main question is, why were my 2 2" oscars cured within days of treatment, but my loaches continued to struggle? Does this go back to the being scaleless fish?

The 2" oscars do not have any signs of white spots or stress but my last 3 loaches still have some white spots on their tail. Advice?

loaches are more susceptible to ick. i think it has to do with being scaleless

I'm pretty sure most ich medicine is dangerous for clown loaches because they don't have scales, I've heard that you only use half the amount you would usually use.

Yes meds are bad for them, i forgot to mention i dose less than half the recommended amount. This method has worked twice for me before on the same exact loaches but for some reason this time its not working.
