I downloaded this app hoping to find anyone who has experienced their fish having ich (white spot disease). I bought a new tank, fully cycled, then added 2 new young oranda goldfish. They broke out with ich and I have been treating them with the heater set at 84 degrees, aquarium salt, Kordon Ich Attack (herbal treatment), and water changes. It has just been coming back again and again. My water levels are stable.. I just can't figure out what the issue is. Also, I just noticed one of them has a hole (about the size of his eye) on each gill cover. Is this due to ich or something else?

I have 2 ranchu goldfish in a separate tank that I have had for a while and I have never had an issue with ich before. But I am making sure to keep a equipment separate.

You posted this same thing already today didn't you?

Same advice I gave on the other post...turn down the heat to 80 because you are going to kill the goldfish with that temp, up the salt dosage, and switch from that herbal med to SeaChem ParaGuard. Keep treating for 2 weeks, doing a 25% water change every 2 days and make sure to vaccuum the gravel thoroughly as well. Dose the water EVERY day (ParaGuard is a reducing agent and is completely inert after 24 hours).

Ich is a simple problem to fix. Just have to keep up with it.

You can go to your local pet store and they will have a chemical that you can put in that will treat it also like the said do water changes!
