The minimum to actually kill emerging ick is 3 lbs per 100 gallons (3ppt). anything under that salinity and many young ick shrug it off.

Yes I would use a concentration of salt close or equal to what Duanes is saying. A lower concentration may not do the job. What type of fish do you have?
