My 80-gallon has ich. Not all fish have it but currently 7 out of 8 of my clown loaches are showing the spots.
NOTE: (Tank contains no plants, inverts or mollusks but does contain scaleless and sensitive fish like the black ghost knife0
The only ich treatment i had was the API Super Ick cure and the dose for an 80-G was 80ml but I only put in 30ml because it was blue and thought it was copper based and I didnt want to harm the BGK. I also dosed some salt 4-5 tbsp the actual listed dose for an 80G was is 16 tbsp (1 tbsp/5G)
These days the temperature in that tank was dropping a lot to 75.6F I turned the heater to 82F hoping itll help with the ich
What else should I do to ensure the best survival of my fish? I also bought a bottle of ICH-X treatment. DOes Ich-x contain copper?
(THIS IS MY FIRST TIME DEALING WITH ICH)

I’d choose one method. The salt or meds. Choose one med if going with meds. Finnish the dose and course. But since both are in, then just monitor. Lower the heat to 78. Keep the water clean, water change as normal and vacuum the gravel etc. Ich-X has no copper in it.

I agree. I would focus on one method. Try to do small water changes every other day to keep the water nice and clean. If you do go the API Ich route make sure you don't have any active carbon in your filter beforehand because it will take the meds out.

In order to kill ick in an 80 gallon tank, you will need 2.5 to 2.75 Lbs of salt.
Ick is only truly stopped with a salinity of over 3 ppt is attained, if not they go on their merry way.
By doing partial treatments, you only make the survivors resistant to treatment.
Sometimes hard choices must be made, saving one fish with a half treatment, or allow the disease to continue killing, and risk killing them all.

Half dose for the bgk and other scaleless fish. Just follow the directions to a T and everything will be fine.

Don’t overthink it. I’m sure ich attack should work. Just don’t like the herbal natural treatment junk much. I would pick one treatment and just stick with it. It will take some time. Do NOT stop treating as soon as the ich disappears. Keep treating your tank for up to a week after. And make sure you keep up with the timing of dosing and the water change schedule as indicated by the directions on the bottle.

Good luck the article i posted above basically explains it all and my 2 cent is what methodology you choose to use keep in mind more cleaner the water is the better chance the fish will have to fight this off. It SUCKS but try not to stress the fish out as much either.
