in my 10 gallon planted tank, I have fish with ich but there are also snails too - can i still use the salt/high temp method? Im worried that the salt might kill the snails?

I went thru the same problem as you lol. I couldnt use salt because of my plants and corydora cats, and i couldnt use Ich meds because of my shrimp in the tank. If you're patient enough just turn the temperature up to 82 degrees and it will clear up in a week. After it starts clearing up add some melafix to help heal the holes or cuts where the ich was just to prevent any secondary infections. Good luck!

you can add minimal fresh water salt. i've done that, and i have snails and julii corydoras, but they are tolerant to small amounts of salt. raising the water slightly speeds up the ich life cycle, so you can kill it quicker, but you should probably change like 1/3 of the water for a few days, or change the gravel.
