Does anyone know if ich can live when dried out? I had an outbreak but I handled it but I lost a few tiger barbs and used my net to remove them and I’m wondering if I stupidly contaminated my favorite net.

Maybe the cysts form. I remember duanes duanes posting about ich being found in puddles in deserts. Something To this effect.

IMO, just thoroughly rinse out the net.
Chances are that once the net drys & sits for a few days, things will be okay.
Just keep watch on the fish for symptoms. At first sign, implement the heat treatment, 86 - 89 degrees for ten days. That usually takes care of any problems.

I know this might seem anal, but....
when in the states I always had about 20 tanks up and running, usually 5 tanks to a sump, so 5 tanks sharing the same water.
I had 4 nets, each dedicated to a sump of those 4 tanks that share water, and also had 4 siphons.

I know people who have one for many tanks, but it always goes into a bucket of bleach or some other sanitizer after each use, just in case

i like the bleach idea - i use two hoses 1 drain / 1 fill for most tanks -
