Had a good look around for this using google etc. and couldn't find whether Ich or Malachite Green treatment has any long term effects on fish. Have a couple of fish in my display tank with a few spots and have dosed slightly under recommended and raised the temperature a couple of degrees. Have treated different tanks before and I caught this very early, dosage in within an hour of the spots becoming visible (Fed them - no spots, did some work, looked and my Chocolate had a few spots), so I shouldn't have any real problems I hope. Fish are all active and feeding currently.

Cheers.

All hardy South Americans, I'm just slightly concerned as they're all sub-adults and I can't find any information on any long term damage such as stunted growth, scarring, etc. Caught it early enough that a second cycle shouldn't start and there shouldn't be any problems, but I guess I'm posting here looking for some peace of mind :p

Added a few fish on the weekend (Lapse in Quarantining, stupid me), so I presume it came with them, though none of them show any signs of it.

Am I safe to add salt in addition to the Ich treatment I've dosed my tank with?

Yes. And even though the directions say there is no need to bump up the temp, I still do that also. I do 20% change daily and re-dose salt and meds.

Redose only 20% of the medication I presume?

With ich meds, you will want to do full doses after the changes...The salt however, is the 20% you are thinking...;)

It's a once every three days dose, so I'll do just do W/C's every 3 days. Also does Purigen remove medication?
