Ich?

A friend of mine emailed me this-
Alright, I turned the temp up.. i'm not exactly sure what it is it is best described as like a see through slime.. but his fins are also turning more transparent. And I don't no why he has those white dots either.
I had already told him to turn the temp up to 84. As for the slime and transparent fin, I would think that goes with Ich, but my fish haven't had it in a long time, and I don't remember. Thanks

it could be velvet but i haven't had it on my fish personally just tell him to add salt.

This sounds more like costia, especially if the slime glistens. Treat as if it were ich, raise tank temp. to around 84F and salt at 2 tsp/ gallon. If the infection does not go awat use a formalin/malachite green based med.
