I about 2 weeks ago I noticed white spots on one of my discus that looked like ich. (The temp was ~85.) I upped the temp and the spots left/moved at least. I added another UV filter (57 watts, in a 240). Then I had to leave for a week. I see that the fish still has white spots and the temp is sitting ~90. I decided to put a new bulb in the 57 UV, since I don't know how old it was.

The thing is no other fish has had a single spot showing up, but the one fish still keeps on getting new ones and looses old ones.

Does ich do that? The fish doesn't appear to be stressed and hasn't ever flashed. I have to leave tomorrow for almost a month. But I of course am having people check on them/do water changes. I don't really want to add salt since I have loaches in the tank.

I'd used salt. Just dissolve and add slow to the tank. I used salt to treat ich of my loaches. Treat with a tablespoon per 5g.

Yah, I know salt can be used... but I have the UV lights, I don't have the time to deal with salt. And I honestly don't think it should be needed. (There is an 18 watt old UV light and a 57 watt new light on there now.) Plus this is 240 gallons... that is a large amount of salt needed to kill ich.

But the question is does Ich ever just stay on one fish for 2 weeks? (But the spots are changing.)
