Opinions please I've read that it can present itself as white patches instead of powdered with salt. I have bumped the temp up and increased salt levels due to rubbing on decor. I just wanted a second opinion on that I'm treating the right thing

I do not see any Ick on the fish unless it is in the other stage where it releases from the fish... Great looking Jack Dempsey though! :)

Is he the only fish in the aquarium?

Have any pictures of him with the Ick present, if he does in fact have Ick?

A better picture might help. From the one you posted, I do not see any ich. An ich infested fish will have several ich trophozoites on the dorsal side of its body and on its gill plates.

Without seeing the Ick present, determining if you are treating the correct condition tends to be difficult. Is he the only fish in the aquarium? How frequently do you do water changes? If he is itching very frequently, something is obviously irritating his skin or scales, which could be different possibilities. Starting from simple ideas it could even be from water chemistry, infrequent water changes, or etcetera. Could be more difficult too if he did acquire a disease from somewhere. But unless you can actually see the condition (maybe you have in person), I would start small. I hope this helps! If there is more than one fish and they are all behaving bizarrely and itching frequently, Ick might very well be present so maybe look for the signs such as the behavior and be observant to see if you can witness the white specks or very small dots. :)

If its not ich and some sort of bacterial issue raising the temp can cause a bacterial issue to get worse.

To properly treat what's wrong better identification of the issue would be needed. Need better pictures to determine what's wrong.

In 36 years of fish keeping I've not seen large patches of ich without specs of ich present as well.
