ick help quick please....

Got a baby(2-3") Pbass that has it and want to treat it by using salt and raising temp to 85-87*. My question is, can my other tank inhabitants handle the heat? I have 2 airstones running for extra oxygen.
Other fish include:
Arrowana 4-5"
Oscar 3"
Dovii 1 1/5"
Shovelhead cat 4-5"
Pleco 6"
2 other Pbass around 2-3"

Arrowana - ??? (sorry - couldn't find any info)
Oscar - 72-77° F
Dovii - 72-82° F
Shovelhead Cat - 75-80° F (looked up the Sorubim lima or Shovelnose Catfish)
Pleco - 72-79° F
Pbass - ??? (dunno what a Pbass is)


I would say you are safe so long as you have more than enough O2 in there, but that is only my best guess.

i don't mean to burst you bubbles but.... that is way to hot! the best way to gurantee to stop the ick is to do water changes everyday. Anything near 87degrees will most likely to kill your fish i seen 3ft shovelheads die from heat like that (87-94degrees). my suggestion to change your water 15-20 percent every day and clean out your filter everyday. salt does help but it doen't beat using ick medicine. If it is a 10 gallon it should just put 2-3drops of the ick medicine after every water change, if you put more that medicine in, the fish in your tank will proably stop eating from being stress out. It takes 5-7days to fully cure but be sure your fish has pleanty to eat before adding treat meant because the eat live fish and the feeders you put in there could die easzly with treatmeant.

my tank is set between 83-85 F

87 or or 88 will not hurt them period, just keep the water well aerated (note: more aeration doesnt mean more oxygen, water can only hold so much oxygen based on the temperature of the water and its salinity)

water changes wont get rid of your ich problem, chances are thats how you got it in the first place, alot of water supplies carry the ich spore and since these are delicate baby peacocks we are dealing with here, it only takes a small mistake (a temperature swing after a water change) to manifest it.

baby peacocks need very warm water anyways

Go for the salt and temperature. Has worked great for me many times. If you are worried it's too hot just don't go that high, but still use the salt. Good luck.
