So to my surprise I found yesterday that the fish in my 75 gallon planted tank had various Honestly I was more worried about killing the plants than saving the fish, most of them anyway, so I moved the fish to a 20 gallon QT. If I Get rid of the ick on the fish in the 20 QT and replace the media in the 75 gallon tank will that fix my prbllem. I really don't want to treat the 75g unless someone knows something that is 100% plant safe. Thanks for looking.

Raise the temperature in your tank to about 83 degrees F for 10-14 days. 100 percent plant and fish safe. The high temperature speeds up the reproduction cycle of the ich and will kill it. Ich does have a free-swimming stage, so simply treating it in the 20G and then replacing the media in the 75 won't get rid of it.
