I have ick in a 90 gallon planted tank the flagtail has ick what do i do the others in the tank are 3 peacock eels black ghost knife and a handful of guppies. I don't want to use the blue ick med. can i use salt. I have already bumped the heat up. (the flagtail is in a planted tank because a friend sold me all of his planted tank stuff for a deal i couldn't refuse)

Can you put salt in there with the eels and knife? I'm not sure they'll react well to that. I could be wrong, but I think those types of fish can't handle it.

You should *not* use the blue (copper) medicine, as that is like dropping a nuke in your tank and will seriously mess up your plants/cause algae problems potentially.

I would highly recommend checking out Voogle. It's a very fish-safe ich treatment that I've been having very positive results with myself.

It might be kind of hard to find in the US, now that I look at it. My LFS has it and it's great! If you can find it, I'd recommend using about 2x the dosage they list on fish that are already sick. It's extremely gentile and you can do that.

ya i use salt for loaches[but not as much as the guys with scales] ther is no point uping the temp if your not killing them ur just making more [i think]

not sure about your plants tho,,you could take them out for a week if your worred

google herbal Kordon Ich Attack, safe for scaleless and works.
