ok so i have a ntt datnoid and its tankmate is a jardini about 4-5".i noticed little bit of white dots on just the dats fins, and head. and i think may be still spreading. my question is can i just keep the datnoid in the same tank as the jar to treat it, not sure if the jar has it too but will it have any effects on the jar if its not effected if treated in same tank???

also was wondering if it would be better to just do 40% wc, turn up heater to about 85 deg and add aquarium salt?? then keep doing water changes and add salt till ick is gone?? Or...

Purchase ick treatment (what works best ?) take out all the carbons in filter and i dont know the rest.. any comments will be a big help, thanks first TOM:confused:

i had this problem to with my oscar at one point ,it was spreading around the whole tank and i was leaving on vacation the day aftter so the first thing i did was raise the temp then i added some salt and the next day there was no change but since i had to go to the airport that night i rushed to the lfs and picked up some ick treatment put it in my tank and left on vacation not knowing what would happen luckily 2 weeks later i came back from vacation and all was GONE, i would try raising the temp and add salt and if it isnt helping buy the treatment

ok thanks took your guys advise il give it about 10 days if no work il buy some treatment. but another nasty thing i noticed in my tank is little white clearish stringy worms, what the heck is it???

The salt should help with any parasite infestation that you may have. Keep the temp up, as this speeds up a parasites life cycle and potentially creates an unfavorable environment for them.

Planaria or detritus worms. None are harmful but their presence indicates overfeeding or deteriorating tank conditions on your part.
