I have a SW 90 gal tank with a 55 gal (half full) refugium, 3 powerheads, a few coral & anenomes. I have 2 saddleback clown fish(bought same time). My water stays about 78/80 degrees. My parameters are good. Problem is -
the clown has this stuff on it, looks like he was rolling in powder and didn't quite get it all off. Not sure if I see spots, like ick would be. He eats, swims, rubs in the aneome, etc.
Should I be concerned? This weekend I am planing on setting up a 10 gal. salt and use Cur.... on him. How long would I leave him in the tank. Only 1 other fish looks as if it might have some spots.

it may be more beneficial to post this in the marine section. you will probably get more help over there for your problem.

It may be ick although clowns are far less likely to come down with it than other s.w. fish. I would remove it too a q.t. tank and try a few f.w. dips. Make sure that the ph of the fresh water is = to the ph of your sw and dip for around 1 min. It might take a few tries but, it's a pretty gentel way to get rid of ich. If you don't have a qt set up though you'll have to do frequent water changes

I agree I'd go both and very quickly. If you don't have a qt set up you'll have to stay on top of water quality issues as well. I would do this asap and be ready to remove anyone else that looks affected.

Max,
I visited the FS and they talked me into something called Chem-Marlin/STOP Parasites. Told me it is safe for the whole tank, plus will treat everyone. I tried numerous times to catch the 1 fish, but he is very fast, hides in the rocks. I'd have to tear the whole thing down to catch him. Not to mention right now upsetting the clowns, wrasse, etc.
I did treat tonight with the stuff, tested my PH - between o-25. I'd say not to 25 but not 0.
I just set up my 90 gal last weekend, and upon tryin to catch the 1 fish a few rocks fell. I will still try to catch as time goes on.

Folks - I did go to the marine section, than to siseases. This is where it brought me. I'm new to SW as well as this web site.
Sorry if I did quite find the right spot.

Try it after the lights have been out for a few hours. It's not normally recomended to treat a whole tank but, I know nothing about the product that you are planning on using. I wish you the best and in this case if you just can't catch the fish I MIGHT consider treating the tank but, again I know nothing about the product you're planning on using. FWIW, My next purchase would be a q.t. or hospital tank for new introduction.
