I was told it was a wild caught fish so age would be unknown. For its size now of about 3.5 inches i would assume it is any were from 1 to 2 years old based on this species of natural growth rate. It was in a 40 breeder with 4 others of its size in the store with water auto change system so water should have been pretty good for it. the readings i am adding here are from a couple days ago before water change. I am doing another large water change today. This tank is on the bottom of another stand so only about 4 inches of the floor can only syphon about 75% out as much as will come out is coming out today. Clean good water for him now is not an issue. And something i need to do alot of becuase it takes it hours to eat and i dont like the food in the water for that long but nothing i can do about it with this fish.

I am sorry to hear. If the fish is not holding position well anymore, and not eating eagerly, then definitely something else is wrong. I don't know what it is. I believe what you are doing is the best you can. I hope things turn around.
