I started to notice that only my clown loaches were getting white spots. It's happened before and it just went away after a couple of days. I thought maybe it was from stress. this time the white spots appeared again and a week has gone by. the condition was getting worse so i got some meds. it's been almost 24 hours and i lost one of the loaches. I just noticed that now my fire eel has it. It's only the scaleless fish in there that have it. I'm using tank buddies ick treatment. I give it one more shot. Is there a different type of ick? I'm just curious because my oscars and pacu don't seem to show signs.

Did you treat previously for only two days? Give this treatment 14 days minimum this time to eradicate all parasites completely. Many medicines prove too fatal for scaleless fish such as loaches. If I were you, remove the med by placing a carbon in your filter. Dissolve table salt and slowly add in your tank. A dosage of a tablespoon per 5g will suffice. Increase temp to 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

just lost my 10" giraffe cat, and it looks like i'm going to lose my blue spotted pleco. There's also a web looking fungus growing on some of the decor. What is that? and what can i use to cure this?

now i lost my rubber nose pleco and all my clown loaches. I doubt my fire eel will last til morning. man, now i just noticed that one of my red belly pacus has it. I didn't know ick could be so fatal. i changed the treatment to API super ick. it has only been 24 hours. I'm sure that i will probably have to start from scratch.

anyone have any advice as to how to do that. should i drain out the whole tank and bleach everything?

Molds from leftover foods. Check your water parameters and siphon the molds.

Ich is not usually fatal. It is probably your medicine that is killing the fish more than the ich is doing. You are adding stress to the remaining survivors by draining a tank. Just get a carbon to absorb the meds and try table salt at a tablespoon per 5g dose. What is the temperature right now? Adjust it to 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

I came home from a week's vacation to find my husband's fire eel with white spots aaall over it (husband is gone for months so I'm looking for help). It hadn't eaten all week. It ate the earth worms I fed it upon my return. It's living in a 120 gallon tank with 2 rope fish, 1 ornate?, other long narrow shaped fish, 1 elephant face, 1 ghost knife, 2 (though I remember having 3 when we left!) african clawed frogs, and 5 silver dollars. The heater broke while we were away and the the temperature is now around 78 C. Given this info, can anybody help me out? I might be able to get the names of the other fish if it's important. I appreciate any assistance.
