Don't know if anybody has seen this before but I am surprised. When I've had ick in a tank pretty much everyone shows signs of it. When I got back from vacation one severum looks like he has been well salted. Pretty sure it's ick, seen it enough times. Started the heat and salt treatment immediately. He is not showing signs of getting better or worse. Swims around and eats just fine. That was on Monday. No one else in the tank has so much as a single speck. Anyone had this happen? Any ideas?

Slight change. Now he looks like he has been snowed on. Still acting normal and no signs on anyone else.

Hi dragonfish, My 200 gallon tank seems to have the same sort of proble, i have 15 fish in there ranging from an Arowana to severums and plecs, but only my severums and kissing gouramis seem to be covered in white spots, none of the other fish though. I am just trying to raise the temperature to about 90f, and not adding salt as I really don't want to upset the rest of the tank.

Good luck, and let me know if you tank changes for the better or the worse.
Mike.

It is not common but yes> I have had it happen when the infected fish had an underlying health problem that lowered it's resistance.

Thanks Guppy.

might as well have a hospital tank just for that fish.
