I have a 240g with 4 juvenile peacock bass, a juruense cat, and a motoro stingray (8inch disk). Just yesterday I noticed the Pbass swimming stationary on the bottom instead of active in the water column as usual. Upon further inspection I noticed very small white dots I believe to be ick. I turned the temperature up from 80 to 82 degrees and added about 20 tablespoons of salt.

So my question was how high should I turn the temperature and how much salt per gallon is safe for the Pbass and Ray ? (this is my first experience with Ray's). I know the motoro cannot pick up the ick but I would like to be safe. As well as are any medications safe or unsafe to use?

Thanks in advance

Slowly raise temp to 86 degrees. I wouldn’t recommend adding salt with your rays. They are sensitive to saline changes. I’d use heat and ParaGuard. Not recommended to dose your show tank. Better to use a quarantine tank if possible
