i think my lil ck is getting the case of ick. i see 2 white unusual spots this morning... what should i do ? the temps 78... how come hes getting it and not other fish ???

right now there co2 and an extra air stone in there.

should i dose some copper??

anyone know how its happening and what to do quick? thanks!~

Hi, sorry to hear. Knifefish are real sensitive to ich treatments. I have bought and highly recommend.. WARDLEY ICH TREATMENT FOR SENSITIVE FISH....its specific for knifefish. works amazingly fast!! Mike

i have treated it with a low dose of aquarisol and then raise the temp to 85 deg. helps alot to raise the temp t treat ick.

raising the temp around the 80s helps alot

the cure for ich is salt (1/2 cup per 50 gallons, rock salt or aquarium salt, NOT table salt) and high temps (86 - 88 degrees F).. it works everytime. do NOT use ich treatments on scaleless fish, most of them don't work anyway, they just kill fish.

doesn't hurt to add an air stone either.

high temps and salt is what i always do first....

thanks for all the replys! raised the temp to 82 for now . i am gonna put some salt in .. he is in a 20 something so 1/4 cup of salt ??

should i take the co2 out ? ive heard sometimes co2 will drop the ph to much causin the knife to get ick ?????

1 Tablespoon for every 5 Gallons. You can probably bump it up to 84F. I'm not too keen on CO2 systems, but I guess you can turn it off during treatment to be on the safe side.

okay update. temps 85. i have both salt and aquarisol.. i found my angel is gettin ick too now . =(
i was wondering if the aquarisol is faster then salt dosing ?? i have both will start treatment tomorrow since its already night..

air stone is up and that seemd to help .
the co2 idk tho.. they never seem affected by it ... should i remove it for the time being ???
