I don't know how my tank got it but I noticed the white salt like spots on like 5 of my fish. They only have a couple of spots but it's definitely ick. What's the best way to get rid of it. It's in a tank with a young Argentea and young umbee's that I'm growing out

Crank up the heater and add aquarium salt. You will need to treat for awhile also make sure you gravel vac each water change to remove cyst that have fallen off the infected fish.

Heat to 86 degrees. In increments of a degree per hour. Salt is 1tsp per gallon. Repeat the salt again another 12hrs and then again in another 12 hrs. For a total 3 tsp per gallon. Do this for 10-14 days and should be over. Even when spots disappear cont the treatment. Make sure to vacuum ur gravel and waterchanges as normal.

I just put aquarium salt in the other day at 1 table spoon per 5 gallons. Just because I heard it was good for the fish

Can add more if ur able to and no problem calculating the difference.

The above treatments work on ick 100% of the time. Be careful about spreading ick to other tanks. Don't use other treatments with formalin or malachite green while using this treatment (high temp + salt) because low oxygen levels could be a problem.

Should I add more? I will also start raising the temp

Yes. Increase the salinity until you have at least 3 tablespoons per 5 gallons and 86º water temp.

I'm able to. But how much more should I add. 3 teaspoons make 1 tablespoon so it would be a total of 1 tablespoon per gallon overall by your calculations
