I had a gentleman from my area email me the other evening in regards to breeding my (possibly) female FH that I picked up at an auction about a year ago. I am looking to possibly ID the two, and find out from you lovely educated folks what the chances/outcomes would be of the pair, and what I'd need to ensure parameter wise to breed.

The one on the left is his male- kept on his own in a 90 gallon. The one on the right is mine, she's kept with a community of aggressive oddballs that can tolerate her bossy attitude :) I'm not sure exactly on the size of his, but my girl is at least 6" long and 4.5" in height. The reason I believe she is in fact a she, is because of her body shape/lack of kok (:naughty: haha!) and rear that could possibly be in a U shape- I felt awkward staring too long :P

Any info would be appreciated- they both look like ZZ's to me, but he was asking family/heritage possibilities in terms of colouration- and I haven't the slightest clue what to tell him :P

Thanks :D

that would be a nicecombinattion considering that the male is fertile. do you now if he has been tested for fertility. as far as the pairing up is up to them u can try to put them together for a while and see what happens..you might have to use a divider if the aggression becomes realy bad . bottom line is it could go 50/50 either way. you just need to try and see what happens. good luck the female is ZZ male looks to be low grade SRd

Thanks so much! I don't think so, although I've read that having red eyes is often a sign of fertility? I'm waiting for another email from his owner, but he knows as much about his FH as I know about mine haha :P Thanks again, I really appreciate the feedback :D

nice classic ZZ male. I used to have some of those and still love them due to their yellow color.
