Hello everyone, i'm new to the Arowana world. I have kept many fish over the years and have just picked up my first arrow. I'm just wondering how long it wil be until I can tell if I have a silver or a black, and how? he is currently four inches.

silver/ black are easiest to tell the diff when their babies. Baby silver look silver. Baby black looks black and yellow

Here is a picture of a 4-4.5" black aro. If your's is a silver aro then it will have a half moon mark behind the gill. Most likely yours is a silver as your not going to find 4" black aro this time of year.

because i don't know the color i shouldn't have one? even though i have a large enough tank and read what it eats, suitable tankmates, and basic care, i shouldn't have one? that's why i posted a question, to learn. not to be insulted by some dick. if you have no advice for me, please refrain from posting on my threads.
