ID Caterpillar at Zoo please :)

My kids walked up on this guy messin with a cool little insect So naturally they manipulated him skillfully into handing it over

After we took some pics and let them handle it... We let them continue to finish the job the guy had started and released it off the walk way to safety behind the fence Also shown in pics

Any idea what Caterpillar it is and what it will turn into?? Thanks !!

Looks to be an American Daggar Moth catapiller. They're a pretty common species here in the US.

It looks like a caterpillar to me. Im told that the hair is very poisonous to humans and causes insane scratching and swelling!
