ID - Cichla

I'm no pro, but that doesn't look like a tem. Small tems usually have a horizontal line going all the way through the body, head to tail. But I may be wrong

Not a tem, could be a ocell, could be a mono with that head, could be both. Give it some time to grow and show its real traits, then it can be IDed.
 
No a tem. Will have just a black line down its side. Go to the cichla section and you will find the juvenile I.d. Sticky

I asked a German because I'm not sure. They told me that this is Cichla cf. temenis. They said that not all temenis have a spot/dot at a young age. Maybe that's why they use the prefix cf. (confer = compare with..., similar). Young fish come from the breeding by German.

Cichla cf. temensis means = probably temensis, but could be another species. Cichla arent very popular here in Germany and so there are only a few experts who really have knowledge about this genus, most fish shops just sell fish without actually knowing anything about them (or actually do know, but prefer to keep the wrong name to make more money ;) )
