ID - Columbian Spotted Gar

Has anyone heard of this of owned one of these? I never have and know nothing of them. The mouth doesn't seem to represent a true gar. Thanks.

That is a Boulengerella; a characin.

Yep, Boulengerella maculata, usually sold as "Spotted pike characins." They only get to about 12".

I got one a few weeks ago...on frozen food for now seem to be interested in massivores but never eats them
