Can I get some confirmation on these comprecciceps? This is what they were labeled at the mom and pop store. The guy even said he wasn't 100% sure as they weren't his specialty. He says they didn't sell well and he personally preferred malawi cichlids. He said he has even had some of them for 3-5 years. And is there anyway to sex them? In some tanks he had multiple good sized adults and they weren't killing each other.

The pictures suck but the tanks were dirty ish (fish all seemed healthy though) and it was with a camera. Hopefully they are of some use

they are all calvus....yellow or gold calvus probably.....calvus rarely are available in my area....they are slow growers and very peaceful

Those are calvi(or however you make calvus plural) , not compressisips. Very nice cichlids but I'm not sure exactly which subspecies they are but they definitely calvus

I would like to see a better picture. Could be gold head compressiceps or yellow or gold calvus. It is very hard to tell them apart.

I hate to say it, but color is not a good indicator in determining what collection point Altolamps come from. I've seen yellow calvus turn white and white comps turn black and everything in between, depending on their attitude, tank mates and tank decor.

(They do look a lot like my gold head comps though...)

Those look like gold head Compressiceps to me too. Look at the jaw slope.
