ID disc shaped characin?

I picked these 2 guys u as dither fish for my larger cuda's as there shoal has thinned out alot this year from jumping deaths.

Not sure what they are. They where labeled conterfiet silver dollars. 1 is about the body size of a baseball and 4"+ in total length and the other is around 3.5" in length,

They have larger scales then that of a silver dollar and are extremely active. They constantly chase each other and spin in circles.

Anyone got any guesses?

should I switch this to gen, discussion?
 
Gymnocorymbus thayeri is the usual species sold as Counterfeit SDs...but those aren't them...
