I don't know much about natives, but it looks like a bullhead to me.

Make sure he has hiding spots because they hide a lot and I would try to get it on frozen food but they may take a while to eat. I see mine very rarely. It's a pretty boring fish

Not saying its not a yellow bullhead but if you look at his chin barbells you'll be able to know for sure....White means a yellow, brown/black means a brown or black bullhead. I still think it is a yellow though.
