New Mexico
a long time ago( I just remembered this) at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in New Mexico I saw 2 fish in Lake Mescalero that kept on swimming under a very big rock, so I got into the water and pushed the rock over and there were hundreds of eggs on the rock and the eggs were stuck to the bottom of the rock, the fish were probably somewhere between 1 and 3 inches and when I decided to scrape a few eggs into a water bottle and after a few minutes the eggs hatched:nilly: and then I lost the bottle:(. Any Idea of what they are?

I have seen some sunfish nests before and they made it out of dirt some weeds and a few pebbles. so i don't think it was a sunfish. Ive been looking and found out hat there is a type of pupfish there and do you know of any that lays eggs on the ceiling of large rocks? Is there any fish in that lake that lay eggs underneath Rocks

Sounds like a cichlid...

Thanks, It probably was a fathead. but I could have sworn they were more colorful, o well. I probably wont be going to the Inn of the Mountain Gods again because someone gave us there room for free because they decided to leave, The chances of that happening again is low.:nilly:

sounds like its a fish.
