OK my camera sucks! He was freaking out, I did not want him to have a heart attack before growing up. Had him 2 days, I think he may have eaten, a little plumper than when I first brought him home. About 2 inches, soo small.

I do not think scomb. Colors and everything look axactly like the fish channrox posted up a while ago called Hydrolycus, but my guy has fins a little smaller, the main reason I bought him was he swims, and sits horizontal not up and down like a scomb. Hope he is not a ralph, but dont care, shoot away.

Those pics are horrible chief....lol

Dorsal placement lands my guess on Rhaphiodon Vulpinus.

Don't know why you wouldn't want a Rhaph, I think the only more desireable Payara is Armatus, Scombs die, Tats don't grow. Rhaphs are awesome. Wish I could find some, I'd do a group of Rhaphs and a group of Odoe. I wanna try to grow one bigger then the 14"er I lost recently. Onl;y drawback is they're real skiddish and unflexible making tank requirements big..... I moved my 14" out of my 2.5' wide 300 as he seemed clostrophobic in there.

He chilled out a bit. Theres nothing I dis like about ralphs I still love the fish, I was hoping it was a tat, but thought it thinking it was a ralph, was suprised that the pet store got somthing that was not a scomb and bought it. I will still keep and grow it out.

this may help a bit, tomorrow I will take more pics with less zoom, I prob can get better pics with my phone lol guess its time for a new camera

Looks like Rhaphiodon vulpinus to me. Nice fish

Thanks all, the pics do not do him justice, better looking in person! I have it in with the smallest guppies I could get and he looks nice and plump, also a lot of plants to make it feel comfortable.

Feels good to have my tank set back up.

Awesome pic up

i have yet to own one of these guys yet.

Thanks, I was going through the venders and there are 2 other places selling ralph's, tdf fish as you mentioned was one place. They have some for 20, thinking about maybe getting a little school of 3.

Nice looking fish so far.
