sweet...scared cause of the colour on the new 1 that it might be a gator gar. dont have the tank for that beast. it was just stressed out and coloured up nicely within 10 mins of putting into my tank.
All are FL gar the new one is just washed out. My first gar was completely white when i got him. Give him about a month to adjust, then he will show his true colors.
thanks they are starting to take over my tank lol.
hey xander, just wondering how hard/price to find cubans?
i will be getting a 200-300 gallon tank and would love a cuban in there
price varies a decent amount, especially when you are looking at the international markets in question (aside from the US). they are pretty rare throughout the trade, here in the US they rarely come up for sale, and there haven't been any YOY brought in for several years now. at that time they were about $250 each for ~4" fish. larger specimens, brought in around 2004, were about $300-$400 each...there are very few of those large specimens left (i believe 3; i have 2, someone out "west" has the other one). there are several of the 2007 juveniles still around, but all Cubans in the US would likely command a high price.
incoming YOY fish from a new batch would likely be around $200-250 each depending on importation and other fees.--
