I think it is a Florida/Spotted gar. Nice fish!! You may get some better replies in the gar forum.

It is a Flordia / spotted that appears to have suffered some snout damage...
If you look at the top tip of the snout does it still have nostrils???

These fish are North American native fish so most of us working with them tend to play in here as well..Not a bad area to ask at all

yup florida/spotted

like richard said...they are a north american fish so it should be fine here. do you know what happened to his snout? looks like it may be a deformity or birth defect? either way nice fish.
