Id help freddy or loisellei

I cant find any real info on them on the internet lots of dovii and managuense ..how long can a 3 inch loisellei stay in a 55 gallon or can he stay there by himself for life?
 
The pet store wasnt very helpful with info how big do they get? hes very outgoing always excited to see me banging on the front glass begging for food

A 55 gallon is probably good for maybe the first year....but really a 75-120 is better if you want to keep a single specimen for life.....
 
Just think about it, a 55 gallon wouldn't be very cozy for life for a 10-14 inch cichlid......a 75-120 can be way better. Plus with a 75 or bigger, you can add a mate if you choose to breed them, 55's are fairly cramped to be honest, I only use my 55 for a growout for bigger guys.
 
Thanks fluffysackson! I just scored a 90 gallon on craigslist with fluval 404 filter lights and heater for just 100.00..so I know whos going in there tomorrow
